“Bowls for Pups”
The 7th and 8th grade students at Holy Trinity School are working on a clay project to help the Humane Society. The students are making clay bowls to be donated to the Humane Society in an effort to promote adoption over buying from breeders. Art teacher, Kate Eckelkamp, was awarded the Maritz Arts and Education Fund for Teachers Grant, to allow the students to work with a new medium of clay. The students have spent time studying the art of their culture and have chosen a design to reflect their own heritage. In April, they will visit with the Humane Society and the students will match their bowl with a dog. That bowl will then go home with the dog when it gets adopted.
While at the Humane Society the students will get to experience their educational including a view of a surgery and a dissection in their new education classrooms.
